It takes about 6 months to change the way your muscles respond to exercise. Here's how I did it and some tips on how you can do it for yourself too.
Can a lilac ever be velvet?
Or a river of chocolate melt into the sun,
whose yellow fingers reach to the sky,
like shards of lemon?
And can a violet actually taste chalky,
like it’s mingled with the loamy earth?
Or can lingering tannins soak
into the dirt
where tobacco grows?
Perhaps there’s a ring of plum jam,
rimmed with a hint of tangerine?
Or maybe the vanilla notes
just scream
to be heard
over the yeasty bread?
Or who knows?
I can almost taste a hint of pencil lead,
or musky rose,
or not-yet ripe blackberry
with a cherry nose.
What a delight to savor the wine
with a sensorial experience
that maybe only a poet
truly knows!
I hope you enjoyed this little “sip” of a poem. You might also enjoy:
