Worry about the WHO not the HOW

One of the most valuable things I have learned over the years is that I can not do everything. I have spent years trying to learn the ins and outs of every aspect of my business thinking that it…

Market Survey

The AR Driving Glasses pass a first order NVF test because they would be the first wearable augmented reality tech used purely to aid drivers and improve road safety.

10 out of 15 people said they would buy this product.

The average price recorded was $80.

IOWA passes a first order NVF test because nothing has ever been made to consolidate car controls into one easy to use device before. It’s valuable to customers because it reduces dashboard tech clutter and consolidates important functions into one product. It’s also fairly simple and would be very possible to make.

12 out of 15 people said they would buy this product.

The average price recorded was $30.

These localized speakers would pass an NVF test because they would use directional speakers to prevent other passengers from hearing what one passenger hears. This would be valuable to customers because then everyone in the car could listen to different music.

12 out of 15 people said they would buy this product.

The average price recorded was $45.

Benchmarking 2x2’s and Patent Search

AR Driving Glasses:

After searching for anything resembling augmented reality glasses on the USPTO website, I found a patent for micro-LED glasses made by Google as a revamp of the original Glass on a website called Patently Apple. This unreleased piece of tech aims to create a more integrated version of the augmented reality implemented on the Glass, making it more wearable and seamless. I also found the patent for the micro-LED display technology on its own.

Important Operations Wheel Attachment:

Since nothing similar to IOWA really exists, I found a patent for flexible cushioning pads that would be used to make the product more comfortable for the user.

Localized Speakers:

After conducting a patent search for directional speakers I found a patent for “Vehicle Speaker Systems and Methods” which is pretty much exactly what my idea was.

Feasibility Concerns

AR Driving Glasses —

The technology required to make these glasses is still in development, even for the most technologically advanced companies so it wouldn’t be able to be manufactured for several years.

IOWA —

It would be relatively easy to make this product but it might be difficult to connect it to the On-Board Diagnostics port without getting in the way or looking messy.

Localized Speakers —

It may be tricky to figure out how to perfectly isolate the sound from other passengers.

Pugh Chart

Based on the Pugh chart, the best idea to follow is the Important Operations Wheel Attachment.
