Lit Review and Dissertation Introduction

When trying to come up with an idea for my dissertation, I was torn between two topics. These being the impact social media has on the film and television industry and the other topic looking into SFX vs. VFX. For the second topic I was was thinking about looking into how VFX has for the most part overhauled SFX and if its a good thing or not. for this i was going to use Jurassic Park and Jurassic World as a case study since they are both pretty much the same film but one is far more dependent on VFX. However i have decided to go with the first topic for my dissertation.

For my Dissertation and I have decided to talk about the impact Social Media has on the Film and Television industry. Some of the things I can look in to under the main subject are; how social media outrage can lead to changes in the film and television industry, such as, James Gunn being fired for old tweets. Another talking point is how social media has changed the industry, such as, the way advertisement for new films/shows has changed with the rise of social media and how sites like Youtube and Vimeo has helped the careers of up and coming film makers.
