My biggest story

Do you remember an event that changed your life forever?

I have one of these and recently started writing a book about it.

The story is that when I was 12 I was hit by a van, knocked unconscious, broken leg and my right hand was halfed. I spent three months recovering and only now, years later, have I realised what it’s meant for me.

It meant that my family was left feeling this horrible hole, like I’d died, but had this rap salvation when I was reborn before them. There’s always a kind of question hanging over it all, though. Am I okay? Am I disabled in some way?

In my book I seek to answer some of this, by retelling what happened to me at the time and some of the events of the 14 years since then. I want to let people know how a major accident at a young age can affect you later on, and what coping strategies you develop
